An essay (ms and typescript copies of original ms), one picture postcard and one memorandum. An account of Macquarie Habour written by T. J. Lempriere (ms copy 52 p., 1842; typescript 24 p., ca. 1913), with the ms copy having been made by T. J. Lempriere's daughter (H 21523); one sepia coloured postcard featuring a painting of Macquarie Harbour; and one memorandum with letterhead from Henry Gyles Turner to Thomas Lempriere, July 7th, 1913. (H 16578).

Thomas Lempriere, (1796-1852) was Deputy Assistant Commissary at Port Arthur prison, Tasmania and an amateur meteorologist. He used a basic tidal gauge to measure the tidal movements of that period.
